Yami and Michael came to the United States from Puerto Rico with their parents, hoping their mother, Gabriela, would receive specialized medical care. Tragically, shortly after arriving, Gabriela passed away, leaving her husband and two children devastated.
As the family prepared to return home to Puerto Rico to be with loved ones, one of Gabriela’s compassionate nurses and her husband reached out to the D Dream Foundation. Together, we were able to give Yami and Michael a special day at Disney—a chance to smile, laugh, and create precious memories before returning home.
While we could never take away their loss, we are grateful to have been part of bringing a little light and joy during one of the darkest times in their lives.
